Cindy Pacia Madduma, a registered nurse from Palawan, was crowned Miss Scuba International 2015 last Saturday, November 27, in Magellan Sutera, Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia.
The 27-year old Pinay beauty bested seventeen other hopefuls from different countries bringing home the highest award of the night. She also took home two of the five special awards namely Miss Marine Conservation and Best in National Costume.
Completing her court are Miss Venezuela Kiara Aiello, Miss Scuba International 1st Runner-up and Miss USA Tessa Ptacek, Miss Scuba International 2nd Runner-up.
Madumma will be given the responsibility of being a role model and a leader, internationally, to advocate for marine conservation and to promote safe diving practices.
She will undertake a year of ocean conservation campaigns to educate and inspire the desire to do our best to safeguard our oceans. The pageant will also offer her a unique and comprehensive platform to launch her career and personal development.
The Miss Scuba International pageant, with its mission “Saving Oceans through Beauty,” started in 2011 and is founded by Mr. Robert Lo who is a strong believer in sustainable development within the realms of the marine environment.
Lo hopes that through this pageant, it will enable more people to understand how fragile the oceans are and how to make a big difference by protecting it. PRESS RELEASE
