One of the most anticipated swim-bike-run races for kids and teens is set to kick off its fourth year this Aug. 10 at Shangri-la Mactan Resort and Spa in Lapu-Lapu City.
Close to 400 young triathletes will be competing in Alaska fortified IRONKIDS Philippines ages 6 to 14.
The young participants will first swim at the Shangri-la Mactan beach, to bike at Mactan Newtown and to run at Punta Engano road.

Race Age Groups
Kids from 6 to 8 years old will race in 100m swim, 3km bike and 1km run, while those from 9-10 years of age will race in 200m swim, 6km bike, and 1.5km run.
Youngsters from 10-12 years old will race in 300m swim, 9km bike and 2km run. Teens from 13-14 will have to swim 400m, bike 12km and run 4km.
Participants can go solo or partner up with a friend and join the relay category.
There is also the non-competition individual play for beginners which include children who are as young as 4 years old up to 10 years old.
Race course
The race starts with a refreshing swim at the Shangri-la Mactan beach in a double loop course, to be followed by a bike ride to Mactan Newtown, and to finish off with a race along Punta Engano and back. (WITH PR)
