The Chocolate Chamber (TCC) Lounge at the NUSTAR Resort and Casino, the newest luxury destination in Cebu, officially opened on May 8, marking another business expansion for the homegrown artisanal chocolate company.
Ralfe Gourmet Inc. president and founder, the tablea-maker Raquel Toquero-Choa, announced that they are delighted to be able to establish a presence at this new destination, seen to attract foreign tourists and local visitors alike.
Choa is delighted that TCC is one of the homegrown brands to be in NUSTAR for a strip pop-up shop for six months while waiting for the construction of its permanent space at Level 2 of The Mall-NUSTAR.
Choa believes that TCC’s presence in NUSTAR is aligned with her dream of telling to the whole world that we, Filipinos, exist in the world of chocolate with its own identity.
TCC is a shop-cum-café and the brand carrier of its mother company Ralfe Gourmet, operating with a mission of catapulting the chocolate-making scene in the Philippines a notch higher.
“NUSTAR will be home to some of the biggest and famous global brands. So, being a Cebuano brand, a homegrown company to be in NUSTAR is truly a huge pride for us,” Choa said.
TCC Lounge brings the cacao creations of Choa, dubbed as “The Chocolate Queen,” to introduce Cebu’s rich heritage in chocolate-making to tourists and locals who are visiting the integrated development. It also showcases the works of Ramir Bonghanoy of Bon-Ace.
“Consistent with our brand, TCC Lounge prides our chocolate-inspired offerings as captured in our slogan, ‘Chocolates from the Land, to the Brand, to Life,’” said Choa.
Choa said TCC is on an aggressive expansion to take advantage of opportunities as the economy continues to reopen.
TCC is also now eyeing expanding overseas, as part of its long-term goal to introduce the Philippines’ brand in the chocolate-making industry.
Last March, the artisanal chocolate brand marked its first-ever expansion outside of Cebu, with the opening of its newest boutique in the tourist island of Panglao in Bohol.
Choa, who is a tablea-maker and an artist with chocolate as her medium, is on a continued mission of bringing Cebu’s chocolate-making tradition to the rest of the Philippines and the world.
TCC is home to some of the best artisanal chocolates in the country. It offers various cacao-based products from tablea, cacao de bola, hand-rolled truffles, and hot and cold chocolate drinks to cookies, cakes, and chocolate-infused dishes.
Since TCC’s inception, Choa has always made it her mission to give awareness of her identity as a chocolate maker from the Philippines and the rich chocolate-making history in the country.
TCC’s main branch in Cebu is located in Robinsons Galleria. It also operates the Batirol by The Chocolate Chamber, located in Robinsons Cybergate, which is a more-hip café targeting the millennial, on-the-go consumers, medical personnel, and wellness enthusiasts. #
