Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) newly installed Region 7 Secretary-General Jun Romulo Manapsal calls all parallel groups in the Visayas to “Align and Unite” during a recent press conference and Oath Taking Ceremony on March 7, 2022, at the Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. headquarters in Cebu City.
The PFP, the political party of Presidential aspirant Bongbong Marcos appointed Manapsal as Region 7 Secretary-General.
Manapsal felt that the unity they will have with the parallel groups will strengthen more the presence of the BBM supporters in the Visayas as well as a way to guide each other on how they can effectively campaign for BBM.
” There are already a lot of existing parallel groups and others are still creating their groups. If they can reach out to us and align with BBM Region 7, we can help them get accurate information and campaign materials that they can use,” said Jun Manapsal.
During the 2016 Vice presidential bid, BBM lost in Central Visayas to Vice President Leni Robredo. However, with the 2022 presidential bid, the PFP Region 7 officials assure the Cebuanos that they have a great chance because of their presence to campaign for BBM.
According to PFP VP for Visayas Carlitos Evangelista Ceniza that they had gotten the support of Negros Oriental and Siquijor officiàls to in supporting the BBM-Sara tandem.
Also, they are hoping to get a united endorsement and support from Cebu and Bohol officials, saying these are crucial votes for winning.
As of press time, Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia of Once Cebu has not yet officially endorsed their presidential candidate.
Aside from the oath-taking of Manapsal, several lawyers took the oath of allegiance as well. It was administered by the PFP Region 7, President Atty. Tito Pintor, PFP VP for Visayas Ceniza, Provincial Secretary-General for Cebu Pamela Baricuatro, together with the other lawyers, Atty. Wilbert Dumon, Atty Angelica Fernandez-Dumon, Atty. Aldwin Fernandez.
On the other hand, the Marcos Pa Rin (MPR) Movement Regional Director North of Region 7, Ruleo Amado Perez said that they have already aligned with the BBM Region 7 headquarters since November 2021. Under his leadership, he has already almost a thousand barangay leaders, and this not include the sitio leaders wherein every barangay has an average of 15 sitios.
“PFP is the party of BBM and because we support BBM, we also support his party. Most of all, we support the federal form of government. We know for a fact that it is only thru changing the existing form of government into federalism that we can attain greatness again,” said Perez.
