The BPO Partylist aims to bring home the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in the years to come through the Bangin Philippine Outsourcing- Balik Bayan Mamayan (BPO-BBM) Program.
This was disclosed by BPO Partylist President and First nominee Mike Cubos who is paving the way for Digital Revolution in the country.
Cubos owns several tech start-up companies such as a rural BPO based in Cordova, Cebu which has already employed several Filipinos over the years since 2015 wants to provide job opportunities for OFWs in the Information Technology and Business Process Management (IT–BPM) sector.
“This program aims to bring back the OFWs in the country by upscaling them through ICT programs,” said Cubos.
Cubos added that these OFWs are those whose only option was to work abroad to provide for the needs of their respective families in the country.
“If they are given another option to earn enough while in the country to support their families, I believe they would opt to stay rather than work abroad and be away with their families,” Cubos said.
That is why he thought of creating the BPO-BBM program wherein it will provide online ICT training among OFWs based abroad and equip them with the right ICT skills to have a chance to be employed in the IT-BPM sector.
Cubos emphasized that they don’t need to return to the country to be able to join the BPO-BBM program. All they need is a stable internet connection where they are at, a mobile phone or laptops where they can join the training online.
“For those who have no plans yet of returning back to the country can use the skills they will learn by working as a freelancer during their free time as an extra income,” said Cubos.
