Classic “RLove” And “Sparkly Summit Christmas” At Robinson Galleria And Summit Galleria Cebu

Christmas is something everyone looks forward to each year. It’s the season when people are merry and the lights are shining all over town. Christmas songs, charming decors and glistening lights—all of these embody the spirit and essence of the Yuletide season. 

Robinsons Galleria Cebu’s “RLove” Christmas 2019 has the mission of bringing together everything that people love about the holiday season: Presents, foods, reunions, festivities or simply the warmth and joy that abound during this time of the year. Whatever it is, RLove encompasses all these experiences that we all love the most about Christmas. 

Last November 15, Robinsons Galleria Cebu unveiled its series of activities for this much-awaited time of the year in their Tree Lighting Ceremony. 

The activity was graced with performances from homegrown bands Adlib and Three Legged Men with featured performances from children of Rise Above Foundation as well as students from Umapad Elementary School which are the chosen beneficiary organizations of Robinsons Galleria Cebu. The children were also given some exciting gifts during the program by sponsors Fleming and Elizabeth Hanson (Mr & Mrs Claus) and Jollibee. 

This was followed by the much-awaited lighting of their unique Christmas tree decked with vintage feels and adorned with the classic red and gold Christmas balls, fairy lights, and vintage houses which was spearheaded by Marcomm Director (Robinson Malls) Kathrina Chong and Chocolate Chamber Owner Raquel Ochoa together with the Officials of Robinsons Galleria Cebu and other invited guests. 

Aside of the Christmas Tree, Robinsons Galleria Cebu also features a Christmas House and a vintage pick-up truck on display at the activity center together with a countdown display on the days until Christmas Day. 

To kick off Robinsons Galleria Cebu’s countdown to Christmas, there will be a Pre-Holiday Sale from November 15-17 wherein up to 70% total discounts will be available in select stores.

Several other exciting Christmas activities have also been lined-up including the Yuletide Concerts every 6 PM on November 22 and 29, and December 6, 13, and 20 at the Verandah and The Coral Catwalk Fashion Show for a cause which would feature the Binibining Cebu Candidates slated on November 23 at 5 PM in cooperation with Go Glow Grow Cebu.

Christmas Arts and Crafts activities featuring Christmas card & Creative gift wrapping by Artissimo is scheduled on December 7 at 1-5 PM; DIY Christmas Décor by Richie’s Pixie Dust will be on December 8, 1-5 PM; Make Your Peppermint Slime by Tinkerhouse on December 20 at 2 PM and 4 PM, and Christmas story telling and carols with Clowning around. 

There will also be a “Meet and Greet” session with Mr. and Mrs. Claus that kids will surely love on 13, 14, and 15 at 4 PM inside the Christmas House located in the Mall’s Activity Area. On December 21, there will be another meet and greet with surprise characters and wrapping the events for the Yuletide Seadon at Robinsons Galleria Cebu will be the Santa Paws on December 22 at 3PM. 

Likewise, Summit Galleria Cebu has officially began their Christmas countdown with the lighting of their dreamy and sparkly 12-foot Christmas Tree called the “Puso Tree of Hope.” For this year’s Christmas celebration, their theme is inspired from Cebu’s version of extra rice, a triangular-shaped rice wrapped in coconut leaf strips known as puso.

Summit Galleria Cebu wish to inspire their guests through their “Galing Sa Puso Program” as the Christmas Season is also the season of giving. They are encouraging everyone to pick up puso ornaments hanging on the tree, share their donations and be an instrument of hope for others in need especially the children of Sisters od the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary as all proceeds will be given to them. 

The hotel will also be introducing a Christmas Book Drive on November 15 2019 and this will continue until January 2020. This concept was inspired by John Gokongwei Jr who was also an avid reader who had helped built institutions for learning and gave scholarship programs to the underprivileged

students. The collected books will be donated to children ages 0 to 12 years old. 

Aside from the Christmas Book Drive, the Summit Hotels and Resort group have also opened the Gokongwei Gallery located at the 4th level of Summit Galleria Cebu. This art gallery was inspired by Robinsons Land Corporation President and CEO Frederick D. Go. The gallery features beautiful, exceptional and one-of-a-kind art pieces from Aninaw Art Collective which is a multi-generational convergence of local artists such master artist Nemi Miranda, Augusto Salvador, among many.
