Kandaya Resort Nails Third Place in HRRACI Basketball Tournament After Thrilling Victory

Kandaya Resort secured a hard-fought third-place finish in the HRRACI Basketball Tournament on Friday, July 5, edging out JPark Island Resort and WaterPark in a nail-biting 98-93 victory at the Capitol Parish Gym.

Jed Lorenz Moralde named best player of the game.

The win was fueled by a dominant performance from team captain Jed Lorenz Moralde, who wasn’t just a scoring machine but a force on both ends of the court. Moralde led the team in scoring with a staggering 25 points, but his impact went far beyond the bucket. He displayed hustle and determination, grabbing a game-high 17 rebounds, dishing out 5 assists, snagging 2 steals, and even swatting away an opposing shot. This all-around performance earned him the well-deserved title of Best Player of the Game. His leadership and well-rounded play were instrumental in propelling Kandaya Resort to a podium finish.

Moralde wasn’t alone in his efforts. Joshua Villa also poured in 25 points, while Renciel Rosacena chipped in with 16 points. Ronald Fernandez (15 points), Ariel Lepiten (8 points), Christian Bryle Conde (7 points), and Johnrell Telacas (2 points) provided valuable contributions off the bench.

JPark Island Resort and WaterPark shouldn’t go unnoticed. They displayed commendable teamwork and resilience throughout the game. James Llenes led their offense with a game-high 29 points. Brian Santillan (19 points), Warren Canete (15 points), and Luceno Encarnacion (10 points) provided strong support. Quincy Suerte, Simon Ducusin (4 points each), Klaizer Cabrera, and Dindo Demoral (2 points each) rounded out the scoring for JPark.

Despite a valiant effort, clutch shooting and strong teamwork ultimately propelled Kandaya Resort to a well-deserved third-place finish in the HRRACI Basketball Tournament.
