Megaworld Unveils P1.5B Mactan Expo Center, Elevating Cebu’s MICE Tourism Scene

The project is set to redefine Cebu’s tourism scene. Megaworld, the renowned property developers, have announced their grand vision for the Mactan Expo Center. This state-of-the-art convention facility is slated to be built within the expansive 30-hectare Mactan Newtown township, nestled on the captivating Mactan Island, Cebu.

With an impressive investment of P1.5 billion, the state-of-the-art convention center aims to cater to the ever-growing demand for Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions (MICE) spaces in the region. 

The launching of the plan, spearheaded by the Megaworld Lifestyle Malls Head Graham Coates, is set to elevate Cebu’s position as a premier MICE destination.

Strategically situated opposite the recently opened Belmont Hotel Mactan along Newtown Boulevard, the Mactan Expo Center will rise as a two-level standalone marvel, occupying nearly a hectare of prime beachfront property. The location’s breathtaking views and world-class facilities are expected to attract both local and international event organizers, bolstering Cebu’s reputation as a thriving hub for business and leisure.

The Mactan Expo Center boasts ample space and versatility, catering to a wide range of events and functions. With a seating capacity of up to 2,500 individuals in a theater-style arrangement, the convention center provides an ideal space for large-scale conferences, grand conventions, and world-class performances.

Moreover, for more intimate gatherings and banquets, the center can host up to 1,600 guests in a banquet-style setup, ensuring an unforgettable setting for celebratory occasions and social functions.

Joining Graham Coates during the launching were other esteemed members of the Megaworld team, including Megaworld Hotels Managing Director, Ms. Cleofe Albiso, Megaworld Visayas Head of Sales and Marketing, Ms. Jennifer Palmares – Fong, and Megaworld Head of Public Relations and Media Affairs, Mr. Harold Geronimo.
