Ford Philippines launches again its free Driving Skills for Life (DSFL) program, now on its third year in Cebu City, with the hopes of promoting safe driving roads and equipping drivers with proper driving etiquette and regulations.

The said seminar will be held at Cebu Trade Hall in SM City Cebu with three (3) training schedules: 10:00 AM, 11:30 AM and 2:00 PM on Friday, October 25, 2019.

Ford Communications AVP EJ Francisco emphasized that one of the program’s target audiences would be the Millenials as young drivers who have little to no experience on the road.

“Actually we are partnering with call center companies– most of the people working there are the younger people and most of them are too excited to drive but not safe all the time,” said Francisco.

He also calls out to public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers from jeepneys, buses, and trucks as part of the primary audience to join the program since these drivers are not only accountable for themselves but also to the passengers riding with them.

“Kapag public utility driver ka, twenty, fifteen, ten more lives are impacted and we really hope that these drivers are taught to be more safe talaga while on the road,” he said.
The DSFL program will be divided into two sections namely the classroom training and the hands-on driving session which will be allotted with one hour per section.

The classroom training is a lecture-approach that will cover the basics of vehicle handling, special driving conditions, anti-distracted driving, and fuel-efficient driving as well as other necessary tips in responsible driving.

The hands-on session is the real application of the lessons, particularly braking, anti-distraction, and vehicle handling. The participant itself could actually drive a Ford car under the guidance of an instructor with a presentation of a valid driver’s license.

The said program has been the biggest product of Ford’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs with the main objective of not entirely solving but rather helping create safer roads. It has been duly recognized by the United Nations and is currently celebrating its 12th year in the Philippines with the hopes of training more Filipinos to adapt to the dynamic road conditions, driving administration and government regulations.

DSFL program is open to not just the drivers but also to the general public as well since even passengers need to be aware of their role in road safety.

The entire program is free and over 100 participants are expected to be catered per session with free snacks and free access to Ford cars. Walk-ins are accepted.

Interested participants can send a text message to the Tuason Racing School via +639 565 644 385 to reserve a slot for free.
